We know going into a career in care can be daunting, especially for those who have no prior training or are coming back from a lengthy gap since their last role. That is why we offer a comprehensive training package for all of our Care Assistants. In the training, currently two days virtually and one day in-person, we guide you through everything you need to know to be confident in the community.
Then, we put you on ‘shadow shifts’ where you follow the work of one of our friendly and more experienced carers. This helps you ease into the community and meet some of our brilliant service users. Finally, its your time to shine by being allocated to runs of clients.
We understand that even after training and shadowing this may be intimidating, but don’t stress! Our friendly team of Service Managers and Coordinators are always on hand to provide practical advice over the phone whenever you’re on shift. Also, we can put you on joint runs where you are with another carer.
Finally, we offer an SVQ 3 for all of our care assistants. At Call-In we believe in continual support and development. This valuable qualification is just one of the ways in which we do this. We also run weekly email updates and monthly newsletter so you can keep in the loop with other carers, get to know one another and follow company updates.
