Spring has arrived at one care home in Aberdeenshire.
A trio of orphan lambs visited the Balhousie Huntly care home. Many of the residents, who suffer from dementia, had grown up on farms, and so the visit helped them to reconnect with their childhood memories.
The lambs, who couldn’t be cared for by their mothers, were shown love and affection from the residents with lots of cuddles, and even singing! This ‘pet therapy’ is scientifically proven to reduce depression, anxiety and loneliness.
Due to the success of the visit, the lambs are set to return to the care home over the next few weeks.
